Arabinda bail plea hearing on Dec 30

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Dec 27 The designated TADA court today deferred the hearing on the bail petition of ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa to December 30.

The Joint Secretary, Home, today filed an affidavit on behalf of the State Government, stating that it had no objection to the bail petition of Rajkhowa as his presence was necessary to carry forward the peace process with the banned outfit.

Five TADA cases are pending against Rajkhowa. The court also fixed December 30 for the hearing of the bail petitions of ULFA foreign secretary Sasha Choudhury and finance secretary Chitraban Hazarika who have four and three TADA cases pending against them respectively.
