APW moves PM over APSC anomalies

GUWAHATI, June 19 � The Assam Public Works (APW) has sent memorandums to the President, Prime Minister and Home Minister of the country on the alleged irregularities in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) and the patronage of such indiscretions by its present Chairman. The voluntary organisation has also pleaded for a high-level probe into the APSC affairs, preferably by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

In its memorandums, the voluntary organisation also called for forensic test of answer scripts of all the candidates selected by the Commission.

Besides removing the present Chairman and Members of the Commission, the voluntary organisation has demanded, scrutiny of call records of all the seven mobile phones of the Chairman and some others. It also called for steps to fix minimum cut-off marks for the Combined Competitive Examinations, a complete overhaul of the APSC and introduction of a 100-mark compulsory paper on Assamese or any other indigenous languages of Assam in both the preliminary and mains examinations of the Commission.
