APS, Tezpur clinches junior title in Wild Wisdom Quiz, NE zone

GUWAHATI, Sept 9 - One hundred and thirty one teams from 70 schools of the North-east came together to vie for the title of North East Champions at the city-level finals of the Wild Wisdom Quiz-2017 held at Royal Global School on Thursday evening.

In its tenth year, the Wild Wisdom Quiz is the biggest wildlife quiz for school students in Asia and the only one of its kind in India. Organised by WWF-India, the quiz is supported by Discovery Kids and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The schools making it to the finals from the junior level were KV Borjhar, Sainik Foundation School, Imphal, DPS Guwahati, APS Tezpur and The Assam Valley School, Balipara. Thereafter, in a closely-contested competition, conducted by quizmaster Abhra Das, Kaizan Minotra (Class V) and Shubhaan Sharma (Class V) of Army Public School Tezpur, came out as the junior- level champions in the North-east, City Final.

The second position was claimed by Aayat Hazarika (Class V) and Anikaith Anant Joshi (Class V) of The Assam Valley School, Balipara and the third position by Heetartha Bora (Class III) and Samarjit Das (Class IV) of DPS Guwahati.

The Principal of Royal Global School, Anubha Goyal and Archita Baruah Bhattacharyya, Coordinator WWF-India�s Assam & Arunachal Pradesh State Office distributed the prizes, certificates and trophies to the winners.

The Middle School winners of City-Level finals from 14 cities of India will go head-to-head with each other at the National Levels to be conducted in New Delhi on October 6, 2017, during the World Wildlife Week. The National Levels will be conducted by Siddhartha Basu, the Quiz Man of India.
