GUWAHATI, Nov 19 - The first edition of Asian Paints North East Super 6, held in collaboration with ISL Club NorthEast United FC (NEUFC) with associate sponsor Ceat Tyres, completed the zonal round of the tournament in Guwahati on November 17.

APRO emerged champions in the Guwahati Zone defeating Gurdu FC in the final 1-0. Altogether�32 teams played passionately to win the coveted trophy.

The Asian Paints North East Super 6 tournament offers a national level platform for budding footballers from small towns to demonstrate their skills.

The preliminary round of the tournament has been held in nine cities across the eight north-eastern states like Gangtok, Itanagar, Agartala, Aizawl, Dimapur, Shillong, Imphal, Guwahati and Silchar.

The winning team in each of the cities will play at the finals in Guwahati on November 23.

The zonal winners of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and the final winner of the tournament will receive a cash prize of Rs 1,00,00, stated a release.
