Appointment of HS Brahma as CEC hailed

TEZPUR, Jan 18 � The pro-talk faction of NDFB led by Gobinda Basumatary has expressed gratitude towards the Government of India for appointing Hari Shankar Brahma as the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) of India.

In a press note, it said that the appointment of Hari Shankar Brahma, a 1975 batch IAS officer of Andhra Pradesh cadre as the Chief Election Commissioner by the President of India on January 16 as the successor of VS Sampath is a matter of immense joy not only for the Boro people, but also for all the indigenous peoples of Assam.

�We are elated that an individual from the Boro community has been able to surpass all odds and climb the ladder of success by dint of his consistent endeavour�.

�We, the National Democratic Front of Boroland (Progressive), one of the flag bearers of the Boro cause, with sincere heart congratulate him and anticipate his best service to the nation and to the society in general,� the press note added.

The NDFB(P) would also like to urge each and every indigenous academic student of the region to be inspired by Brahma�s spectacular success story and prepare to compete in the competitive service examinations in order to render best possible services to the nation.
