PATACHARKUCHI, July 27 - Pabindra Deka, MLA of Patacharkuchi LAC has appealed to the Education Minister to make necessary arrangements for functioning of the Bhattadev University soon.
The MLA recently submitted a prayer to the Education Minister and urged him to start the classes of the much-awaited University within August of the current year. Mention may be made that the government has already upgraded the Bajali College of Pathsala into Bhattadev University and an amount of Rs 2 crore has also been sanctioned in this regards. Earlier, the former Education Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma had also assured to appoint the Vice-Chancellor within June of the current year. The MLA also mentioned in the letter that the people of the locality were eagerly awaiting the functioning of the university.
Moreover, he also submitted a letter recently in which he appealed to the State Finance Minister to establish the proposed sub-treasury office at Patacharkuchi at the earliest. It may be mentioned that during the Budget session (2017-18) last, the Finance Minister had announced to open one sub treasury office at Patacharkuchi. The MLA urged the minister to establish the same within this financial year so that the people of the area benefit from it.
