APCC sit-in on LGBIA issue

GUWAHATI, Aug 24 - The APCC staged a sit-in demonstration near the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (LGBIA) today in protest against the bid to privatise the airport.

APCC president and MP Ripun Bora, Rakibul Hussain, MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, Dr Matiur Rahman Mandal, ex-minister Akon Bora, ex-MP Dwijendra Mohan Sarma and others took part in the protest. APCC also flayed the State Govt for its silence on the issue.

Meanwhile, reacting to the issue, chief spokesperson of Assam State BJP Rupam Goswami said the Congress staged the protest over some baseless allegations. He said the Centre�s act would upgrade the airport to world-class standards.
