APCC seeks probe into BJP charge against Gogoi

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 28 - The APCC today demanded an inquiry into the allegation levelled by the State BJP against former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi. The State BJP had yesterday alleged that Gogoi has in his possession black money to the tune of Rs 12,000 crore.

The APCC in a statement here dared the BJP to institute an inquiry to verify the veracity of the allegation, which is said to be buttressed on a Comptroller and Auditor General of India report.

The State BJP has alleged that Gogoi has not submitted any account of the mentioned amount and hence the amount is in his possession.

If this is the fact, then why is the BJP-led government at the Centre turning a blind eye to it, wondered the APCC.

It alleged that in fact, the BJP has levelled this baseless allegation only to divert the attention of the common people of the State, who are hard hit by the demonetisation effected by the Union government.
