APCC plea on donation to party fund

By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, March 2 Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Anjan Dutta has made an appeal to the people not to comply with anybodys request/demand for donation to the Congress party fund without verifying the genuineness of such pleas with the APCC. Dutta said intending donors may make their donations to the party fund through the party account in the Assam Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd.

Regretting the fact that name of the party students wing NSUI has been linked with an extortion attempt involving a city hotel, Dutta said that the party is in no mood to tolerate such incidents and those facing such demands should immediately contact the party headquarters and its president for immediate disciplinary action against those party men involved in such nefarious activities.

However, the Congress would not assume any responsibility for any understanding reached by the aggrieved parties with anybody claiming to be a Congress man without taking the issue up with the party leadership before conceding to any demand or request for donation to the party fund, said the APCC president.
