By CORRESPONDENT

HAILAKANDI, June 14: Strong action may be taken against former Congress minister Gautam Roy by the party's State head office for celebrating the victory of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the recently declared Lok Sabha polls.

Sources said the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has decided to take action against Roy.

The APCC may take the decision of suspension from the party in its meeting scheduled on Saturday in Guwahati.

Sources said besides Roy, action may also be taken against some more senior leaders in the State for sabotaging party's prospects in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.

It may be mentioned here that Roy was showcaused on May 25 by the APCC secretary Ranjan Bora for the celebration due to the victory of BJP by distributing sweets, dancing, playing colours and chanting Joy Shree Ram publicly.

But sources said Roy did not give any response to their notice.
