By STAFF REPORTER

GUWAHATI, July 19 - Expressing happiness over the inclusion of former Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi in the Congress Working Committee (CWC), the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today said that the newly constituted body has given prominence to the younger leaders while also accommodating the veterans.

We are obliged and grateful to Congress president Rahul Gandhi for choosing Tarun Gogoi as a member of the newly constituted CWC and also for making Gaurav Gogoi a Permanent Invitee and Sushmita Dev a Special Invitee to the body. Gandhi is promoting the younger generation, but, at the same time, he is not ignoring the senior-most leaders of the party as well, said Apurba Bhattacharya, general secretary and senior spokesperson of APCC.

Bhattacharya said that the new Congress Working Committee clearly proves the organisational acumen of Gandhi and will lead to positive developments for the party in the coming months.

Most of the successful and senior leaders have been included in the Congress Working Committee and junior leaders have also been given opportunity proportionately, the APCC spokesperson said.
