GUWAHATI, March 15 Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today demanded arrest of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy for his remarks against the Assamese people on the issue of the Indo-Bangla land swap deal and also for his offensive comments against the mosques and churches of the country and advocating their demolition.

Swami with his slighting comment against the Assamese people that they should go on crying sitting in their homes if they are so upset with the decision of the Central Government to get the Indo-Bangla land swap deal endorsed by the Parliament, has exposed the real intention of the BJP so far as Assam and its people is concerned, said APCC Media and IT in-charge Ripun Bora in a statement here today.

The BJP had opposed the land swap Bill prior to the Lok Sabha polls and it even went for an Assam bandh to register its opposition to the Bill. What is more startling is the fact that the Assam State committee of the BJP has failed to come up with a convincing statement in this connection.

On the other hand, Swamy has described the mosques and the churches as the mere RCC structures and advocated their demolition. The BJP leader with this stand of his has thrown a serious challenge to the constitution of the country.

The BJP leader should be booked under Sections 153 (A), 295 (A), 298 and 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code, said the APCC Media and IT in-charge.

He also demanded expulsion of Swamy from the BJP, if it does not subscribe to his (Swamys) above statements.
