GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - In the last match of the preliminary stage of the RG Baruah GSA Super Division Football League at the Nehru Stadium here today, Assam Police Blues trounced Maharana Athletic Club 3-0.
Leading 1-0 at the break the policemen pumped in two more in the second session. It was a one-sided affair as the Maharana boys miserably failed to put up spirited show in their crunch match.
It was a big blow for Maharana as they have managed to collect only four points in the preliminary round and sat at the bottom of the eight-team table. They won just one match and drew one while lost five matches.
Sanjib Borgohain struck twice in the 21st and 56th minute while Malaram Basumatary added one in injury time (90+1).
