SIVASAGAR, March 15 � Assam Police Blues clinched the title in the 6th Assam State Premier League Football Championship with a stunning 6-5 victory over title contender Green Valley Sports Club in penalty shoot out at the Pioli Phukan Stadium here today.

The thrilling title clash, before a capacity crowd between two Guwahati teams ended in a 1-1 draw in the regulation and extra time. In the tie-breaker, the policemen kept their temperament and converted all the five shots while Green Valley missed one.

In regulation time, Nigerian Micheal Lucky put Green Valley ahead in the 45th minute. But the cops put up a spirited show in the second session and restored parity through Bulneiril Charai who drove home with a sharp grounder in the 81st minute.

Both the teams went all out in the extra 30 minutes but failed to break the deadlock.

In the closing function, State Fishery Minister Basanta Das, MLAs Anjan Dutta, Susanta Borgohain, Arjuna Bhogeswar Baruah were present as guests.
