GUWAHATI, Feb 10 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today confirmed that a splinter group of the anti-talk faction of the National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) is behind the abduction of six members of World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
While three of women members of the WWF were released by the abductors, the other three still remain untraced.
Gogoi quoting intelligence inputs during a press conference here today, said, �Intelligence agencies have stated that the anti-talk cadres of the NDFB were behind the abduction and I have directed the security forces to ensure safe release of the remaining three WWF members,�
The abduction took place on Saturday from Ultapani forest range under Manas National Park.
On the ULFA-Centre peace talks, which got under way at New Delhi today, the Chief Minister said that he would take all necessary steps to ensure that peace process is expedited.
