Anti-graft group deplores NNPGs

By Correspondent

DIMAPUR, Nov 8 - Anti-graft group Against Corruption and Unabated Taxation (ACAUT), Nagaland, has expressed shock at the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) personally attacking two leaders of Public Action Committee (PAC) of Naga Council Dimapur and termed it uncalled for.

In a statement issued on Friday, ACAUT chairman Tia Longchar and secretary Hetoi Chishi said the PAC under the leadership of Vekhosayi Nyekha and K Ghokheto Chophy have been rendering selfless yeoman service for the most pressing problem of the Naga public, which is unabated and multiple taxation.

The anti-graft group took umbrage at the NNPGs for accusing the PAC leaders of treating Naga freedom fighters and their children with contempt and said it was a diversionary tactic from the real issue at hand.

The working committee of the NNPGs, which is engaged in peace talks with the Central government, recently criticised the PAC leaders for checking collection of taxes for sustaining Naga national workers.
