JORHAT, May 24 Demanding rehabilitation of more than 150 displaced families and governments adequate measures for protecting greater Jhanjimukh area of Jorhat district thousands of locals and members of AASU today staged protest against the State Governments negligence for solving their problems.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogois effigy was immersed in the Brahmaputra river by the protesters near Jhanjimukh platform as neither the local MLA nor the government officials concerned paid heed to their basic demands for long.
