GUWAHATI, May 13 � The joint movement against construction of big dams will continue and the raw materials required for the Lower Subansiri project would not be
allowed to reach the site, a press statement by Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti said.
Further, in protest against dismantling of the watch-posts of anti-dam activists by security personnel, the Samiti will take out a torch rally across the State on May 14, which will be followed by sit-in demonstrations in all the district headquarters the next day.
Meanwhile, a 48 hour-bandh was observed in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji and no major incident was reported.
