JORHAT, March 8 - Jorhat Police today arrested another watchman named Tarun Chandra Das of Sankardev Seminary School during investigation into the case of burning HSLC answer-scripts at a room of the school a few days ago.

Police said that neither Das nor another watchman Bipul Kakoty (who was arrested on Monday) confessed to their involvement in the crime, though police started interrogation following their arrest.

Today, the CID team recorded the statements of some officials of the Jorhat Inspector of Schools and SEBA regional office as a part of their inquiry into the case.

However, neither police nor the CID investigators have made considerable progress in the case though their investigations have already crossed three days today.

Our Staff Reporters adds: The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has demanded an inquiry into the incident of answer-scripts of HSLC examination being destroyed in a fire and question paper of the HS examination found leaked by a sitting judge of the High Court.

The students body has demanded stringent punishment for those who are guilty, and for pushing the student community to despair.
