Silchar: In yet another instance of cyber attack on educational institutes in southern Assam, another college in Cachar district fell prey to the hackers on Monday.

According to Dr Dhritikanta Rajkumar, principal of Silchar College in Singari area on the outskirts of Silchar, the incident of their college website being hacked came to light at around 4:30 pm on Monday after some students of the institution reported of inconveniences in accessing the website. “Having learnt from students about the development, our technical persons who manage the website were called and we were informed that the website has been hacked. Police officials have been contacted and the restoration process is underway. An FIR will be filed on Tuesday,” Dr Rajkumar told The Assam Tribune.

It may be mentioned that in similar instances, the website of Guru Charan College and the app developed by Ramanuj Gupta Junior College for online classes of its students and other educational activities had been accessed by intruders. As per authorities of the Junior College, the intruder(s) posted an offensive message using notification which had triggered sensation across the district since the past few days.
