SILCHAR, Aug 1 - In yet another major move, authorities of the Assam University Silchar issued suspension notice to Dr Nirakar Mallik, Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology of the university following a report filed against him by the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) on on Sexual Harassment to Women at Workplace of the varsity.
Dr Sanjib Bhattacharjee, the registrar of the university issued the suspension order under relevant rules. The order also mentioned that until further orders, the professor under suspension shall not leave the varsity campus without prior permission of the university authority.
