JORABAT, Jan 27 - Great anomalies were witnessed in the hoisting of the National Tricolour in some government offices located between Jorabat and Byrnihat during the celebration of the Republic Day on Tuesday.
At a time when the rest of the nation hoisted the National Flag with respect and sang the national anthem showing honour to it, a few offices including the Morodolla Forest Beat Office, 14th Mile, Byrnihat Farmers Training Centre, 13th Mile and Tamulikuchi Primary Health Centre, 13th Mile, allegedly showed grave disrespect to the Tricolour by not following the flag code of India while hoisting it in their respective premises.
The Tamulikuchi Primary Health Centre reportedly caused grievous insult to the National Flag by hoisting it on a rope made of bandages. The Byrnihat Farmers Training Centre hoisted the Tricolour on a single rope.
The Jorabat AASU unit and various organisations of the area have condemned such unacceptable activities in the government institutions. Jorabat AASU adviser Putul Lalung said that freedom fighters laid down their lives so that the Tricolour could fly proudly in the country.
It will be interesting to note if these government offices take notice of such anomalies and show more caution in future.
