KALAIGAON, Jan 19 - The annual day celebration of MVM (Maharishi Vidya Mandir), Tangla was held recently with pomp and gaiety.The hoisting of MVM flag by Sanjeeb Kumar Sarma marked the beginning of the day-long celebration at 8 am followed by an open session, cultural events and prize distribution ceremony at 11 am, which was presided over by Sanjeeb Kumar Sarma, principal of the school.
Sarma welcomed all the distinguished guests and parents to the ceremony. Keshab Chandra Dutta, ex-principal of Tangla College and, at present, the president of Udalguri District Bar Association attended the open session as the chief guest. While addressing the parents, teachers and students, Dutta spoke about modern teaching and learning.
DN Hazarika, ADC, Udalguri district cum SDO (Civil) in-charge of Bhergaon subdivision, attending the session as the distinguished guest, spoke a few words on modern education system and role of parents in supporting their children. Singer cum composer Prafulla Kumar Barua of Tangla, actress Pompi Kalita of Kalaigaon and AASU leader Chintu Kumar Chakravorty etc., also addressed the open session.
