GUWAHATI, Jan 29 - The 70th anniversary of the martyrdom of Mahatma Gandhi who pioneered India�s freedom struggle, will be observed throughout the State along with the rest of the country tomorrow.
The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will observe the day with programmes at its offices throughout the State. The party will also hold a programme to pay tribute to the Mahatma at its State headquarters here at 11 am. Members and leaders of the party will take the pledge to work for the defeat of the communal forces at the function, said a press release. The Left and Democratic Mancha, Assam will observe the day with a function at the Lakhidhar Bora Kshetra at 11 am. Members and leaders of the democratic and secular organisations and individuals have been invited to take part in the function, said another release.
