GUWAHATI, June 30 � Anal Kashyap of Assam, who is now undergoing training in US, has got the top seed in doubles with his Chinese partner Zhou Xin in the US Open Table Tennis Championship which will begin tomorrow at Nilwaukee, near California.
Anal, who is sponsored by California-based India Community Centre, emerged champion in the recently concluded California State Open TT Championship beating the fourth seeded player of US. The Indian pair of Somyadeep Roy and Amal Raj are the second seed in the meet.
Informing this, Assam Table Tennis Association (ATTA) secretary Tridib Duvarah said considering Anal's performance in the California State Championship he was given the top seed in the US Open. An employee of Oil India Limited, Anal is in California, sent by ATTA for second time for higher training. ATTA president Rockybul Hussain and secretary Duvarah congratulated Anal for his achievement in the US.
