AMSU observes Martyr�s Day

TINSUKIA, March 3 - Under the aegis of the All Moran Students� Union (AMSU), all the organisations of the Moran community observed Martyr�s Day with a daylong programme at the office compound of the student body, Boroguri here on Thursday.

On the occasion, the flag of AMSU was unfurled by its president, Arunjyoti Moran and tributes to the martyr�s were initiated by Binanda Moran and all the general secretaries of all the organisations of the Moran community.

The commemoration meeting presided over by Arunjyoti Moran, was addressed by the leaders of the community as well as office bearers of other organisations namely, AJYCP, Chatra Mukti Sangram Samity, president of the district committee of Bharatiya Janata Party, Lakheswer Moran, former presidents of AMSU, Birinchi Neog among others. The other programme included gayon-bayon and naam prasanga.

It may be mentioned that martyr Binanda Moran had died in an accident while returning from Guwahati in a bike rally organised by AMSU on March 2, 2010 in which another activists of the student body, Santanu Moran also received grievous injuries and since then AMSU has been observing March 2 as martyr�s day every year.
