JORABAT, Jan 16 - A drunken man tried to kill his wife following a quarrel in their residence at Tamulikuchi village, 13th Mile, under the Sonapur Police Station.
According to sources, Ranjan Deka poured kerosene on his wife Monika and tried to set her ablaze, following which local people came to her rescue and held the husband captive till the arrival of police.
After reaching the spot, police, with the help of locals, took both to the GMCH in a mini-truck as the 108 ambulance failed to reach on time. While Deka also got burn injuries during the scuffle, the condition of his wife is stated to be very serious.
