Vadodara teen wins Science award

Fifteen-year-old Varun Saikia from Vadodara – who had built a machine that floats on water and clears up waste from the floor, won the Outstanding Achievement Award within the Initiative for Research and Innovation in the STEM (IRIS) National Fair 2021.

Varun has won the award funded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, given to younger innovators for his or her excellent projects.

The award is given by the American Meteorological Society, Massachusetts, for excellence in atmospheric or associated sciences.
