Two-day yoga festival ends

JALUKBARI, May 28 - A yoga festival was organised by the Directorate of Students� Welfare, Gauhati University in association with Vivekananda Kendra, Assam Prant Guwahati, on May 27 and 28 at the PD Seminar Hall of GU.

Dr Ranjan Kr Kakati, Director, Students� Welfare, GU welcomed the guests and said the aim of the yoga festival was to overcome all kinds of sufferings that could lead to a sense of freedom in every walk of life with holistic health, happiness and harmony.

GU VC Dr Mridul Hazarika said yoga embodies unity of mind and body, thought and action, restraint and fulfilment and harmony between man and nature. Prof Hariprasad Sarma, Rector of GU spoke on the utility of yoga to mankind.
