Training for poll officials

GUWAHATI, April 1 - The Kamrup Metro Election District today conducted a hands-on training to officials who will handle the Voter Verified Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) during the forthcoming Assembly poll.

The training was held at Cotton Collegiate Higher Secondary School. Around 1,200 officials attended the training today.

Officials said that VVPATs are going to be placed in the polling stations of all the four Legislative Assembly Constituencies located in the city where there are less than 1,350 voters.

They added that all the Presiding Officers and Polling Officers who will be on duty during the forthcoming Assembly polls have already undergone training on VVPAT and Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in a series of training.
