NEW DELHI, Nov 22 (IANS): Dressed in a light blue silk sari with a pashmina shawl draped around her shoulders, Congress president Sonia Gandhi returned to parliament Tuesday to attend the first day of the winter session.

Gandhi, 64, missed the entire monsoon session of parliament in August as she was abroad where she was being treated for an unknown ailment.

The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson looked in good health as she walked into the house with her hands folded in greeting to her parliament colleagues.

She exchanged smiles with women Congress MPs and also greeted Leader of Opposition Sushma Swaraj, BJP leader LK Advani and other opposition leaders. She was seen talking to Leader of the House and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee while opposition MPs were staging a protest.
