Sec 144 imposed in Tinsukia dist

TINSUKIA, Dec 20 - To maintain law and order, the Additional District Magistrate has banned the assembly of five or more people in public places, carrying of arms by persons other than the members of security forces on duty, organizing meeting in public places, taking out of processions, using any walls etc., of public or private residences for writing any slogans, banners etc.

It also banned creation of sound pollution by using loud speakers, creating chaos by using instigating slogans etc., and the sale of gutka throughout Tinsukia district, by promulgating Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) with immediate effect.
