GANGTOK, Oct 12 - The ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) made a clean sweep of the Urban Local Bodies Election 2015 by winning all the 53 wards in all four districts in the State.
SDF won by a thumping margin in all the wards including the prestigious Gangtok Municipal Corporation from where the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor posts will be selected.
Counting throughout the State commenced from 8 am this morning without any violence reported from all the four district headquarters.
The SDF had made a clean sweep in the first 2010 ULB elections where they won all 53 wards uncontested. In this election the fight was confined between SDF and SKM (Sikkim Krantikari Morcha). � PTI
