Gossaigaon, March 31: Ahead of the Phase III of Assam Assembly polls, the State Surveillance Team deployed in Gossaigaon district seized Rs eleven lakhs on Tuesday at Simultapu Out-post area under 28 Gossaigaon LAC.
After due procedure, the seized amount was deposited at the Gossaigaon Sub-Divisional treasury. The Model Code of Conduct has been put into force ahead of Phase III elections to be held on April 6 and carrying of more than Rs 50,000 in cash is not permissible.
