Ranji player Sunil Bhatta dead

GUWAHATI, Jan 7 � Gauri Pada Bhattacharjee, popularly known as Sunil Bhatta died at his Maligaon residence this evening. He was 73. Bhatta, a leading pace bowler of East Zone, played for Assam in Ranji trophy from 1955 to 1973 and took 52 wickets in 23 matches. The Assam Cricket Association and the Veteran Cricket Association of Assam paid tribute to Bhatta who was was an employee of NF Railway.

He leaves behind his wife a son and a daughter.
