Patacharkuchi, Jan 31: A State-level workshop of puppet theatre groups and associated artistes were held here today on the Pathsala Azad Bhawan premises, during which 93 puppet artistes were felicitated by Chairman of Housefed and Sorbhog MLA Ranjeet Kumar Dass with cash awards and citations.
The programme was organised by a group associated with the film Life In A Puppet based on the struggle of puppet artistes. Made by Rajen Das, the film has brought glory to the State, winning several awards.
An exhibition on puppets also held on the occasion.
The welcome address was delivered by Rajen Das. Music director Tarali Sarma, producer of Abahan Theatre Krishna Roy, Bajali district BJP president Nagen Choudhury and BJP spokesperson Phani Pathak were present, among others.
