SILCHAR, JUNE 28: Three plumbers working at the Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH) have been sent on quarantine for coming in contact with COVID-19 positive patients at the hospital's designated COVID ward.

District Media Expert NHM Suman Choudhury informed media persons on Friday that the plumbers who were working at the hospital under a contractor had somehow came in contact with the COVID-19 positive patients who lured them with money to fetch food and other items from outside.

"Having been informed by the SMCH authorities, we have sent the three plumbers, all residents of Uttar Krishnapur into institutional quarantine. These plumbers had come into direct contact with the positive patients inside the ward which is unfortunate," Choudhury said.
