Online short story contest winner announced

GUWAHATI, May 9 - Twist & Twain, an online literary magazine, has announced the winner of its first short story contest open internationally to people aged 18 years and above.

According to a press release issued here by Twist & Twain�s Rajib Das, the story M�ller�s Mosaico by David Cl�menceau from Germany got the winner�s prize of Rs 25,000 for its graphic portrayal of refugees fleeing their war-torn nations and entering Europe, only to be hated by the local populace.

The other writers who had made it to the shortlist are Lance Dowrich (Trinidad & Tobago) for his story Ethelbert and the Free Cheese, Lohit Datta-Barua (USA) for his story Brother�s Silent Love, Candle Vanrempuii (Mizoram) for her story And the Story of Regina Reginald and Blanca Blunche, Moachiba Jamir (Nagaland) for his story Fallen and Tialila Kikon (Nagaland) for her story Mismatched Patches.

Twist & Twain plans to start its second contest soon with more exciting prizes. Interested people wishing to submit their stories and articles may visit the site www.twistandtwain.com. The magazine has so far published works of many writers from around the world, the release added.
