Mizoram goes under lockdown till April 26

Guwahati, April 20: The Disaster Management and Rehabilitation Department of Mizoram on Monday announced lockdown in the State from April 20 to April 26. In an order issued by the department, it stated that the State will go under complete lockdown from 4 AM of April 20 to 4 AM of April 26 in view of the increasing number of coronavirus cases in Mizoram.

The decision was taken to prevent the outbreak of the second wave in the State as there have been a recent increase in the number of COVID-19 cases.

On Monday, Mizoram recorded 45 new cases of coronavirus in the State. Of the 45 fresh cases, 33 were reported from Aizawl district, 11 from Lawngtlai and one from Kolasib district. Mizoram now has 383 active COVID-19 cases, while 4,509 people have recovered from the virus.
