Imphal, Aug 12: Manipur reported 677 new Covid 19 positive cases, when 4,676 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, according to a press release issued by the State Health Department on Thursday evening.
Thus the State's total infection tally increased to 1,06,707, the release said. The total number of active cases stands at 6,835, it added.
The newly infected persons are mainly from Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts.
Meanwhile the state also recorded a total fatalities of 9 Covid-19 patients in the last 24 hours, taking the state's Covid-19 death toll to 1,683,the sources said.
The victims are from Bishnupu r(2), Thoubal (2), Imphal East (1), Imphal West (1), Kangpokpi (1), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (1) districts.
On the other hand with 690 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered COVID 19 cases in Manipur reached 98,189,it said. Thus the state's recovery rate increases to 92.01 per cent.
Till date 11,46,203 persons were tested for COVID 19 while 7,25,129 persons were screened at the entry points of the state at the various testing centres in the state, the source said.
At the same time Manipur has so far given 14,24,962 doses of Covid vaccines including 11,61,304 first and 2,63,658 second doses to the residents.
A total of 5,89,575 first doses and 10,955 second dose of Covid vaccine were given to people between 18-44 years and 2,85,933 first doses and 1,01,532 second doses to people between 45-59 years besides 1,44,168 first doses and 54,025 second doses to people above 60 years till date, as per latest vaccination report available here.
