Manipur reports 3 Covid deaths, detects 157 new cases
Imphal, Oct 6: Manipur reported three Covid deaths from Imphal West district,in the last 24 hours, official sources said.Thus the state's Covid 19 death toll increased to 1,871.
So far the maximum numbers of death cases are reported from Imphal West district (624) while Pherzawl district has no death case till date.
The state also reported 157 new Covid 19 positive cases, when 2,681 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, it said.The newly detected Covid 19 cases are mainly from Imphal West(107),Imphal East(25) and Ukhrul(8) districts.
Thus the state's total infection tally increased to 1,21,303. The total number of active cases stands at 1,724.
On the other hand with 632 new recoveries in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered COVID 19 cases in Manipur reached 1,17,708. Thus the state's recovery rate increases to 97.04%.
Among all the 16 districts of the state, the maximum numbers of cumulative Covid 19 positive cases were reported from Imphal West district while the maximum number of cumulative cases among the 10 hill districts was reported from Churachandpur district.
Presently altogether 319 Covid 19 positive cases are under home isolation.Till date 13,13,152 persons were tested for COVID 19 at the various testing centres in the state, the source said.
As per latest official reports, the state has so far given 17,31,634 doses of Covid vaccines including 12,27,360 first and 5,04,274 second doses to the residents.
In another development, Manipur police on Tuesday detained 31 persons in the state for violating health protocols and released them after giving warning. An amount of Rs 5,900 was also collected as fine.
