Manipur continues unlocking process,shortens night curfew
Imphal, Sep 7: Shortening the duration of the night curfew period by two hours, Manipur continues the unlocking process with strict regulations.
The night curfew which was earlier imposed across the state from 6pm to 5am will be imposed from 7pm to 4am for fifteen more days till September 21.
The state chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar who is the chairman of the state executive committee of the state disaster management authority issued a revised order in this regard last evening.
Stating that micro containment zones shall be strictly monitored by dedicated police department teams and health department teams,it said,DCs to involve the local clubs/local bodies with specific jurisdictions.
However social gatherings/feasts are not permitted, the order said, adding that the unavoidable customary and religious rituals can be performed in open sheds by restricting the number of invitees two twenty only.
As per new revised order,the opening timing of showrooms and serving centres of vehicles will be from 8am to 5pm.At the same time, Brick kilns, stone crushers and furniture manufacturing units are also included in the permitted list with strict observance of Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB).
On the other hand the shopping malls will be allowed to open from 10 to 4 pm with limited numbers of customers and CAB while gymnasium/fitness centres from 5am to 10am with strict observance of CAB.
The offices of insurance companies may have public transactions on all working days from 10 am to 3:30 pm, postal services from 10 am to 3:30 pm and banking from 10 am to 2:30 pm by taking adequate precaution and strictly following CAB.ATM services including refilling of cash in ATMs are also allowed,as per the order.
Even though certain shops and establishments are permitted to open within stipulated times with CAB, the iconic three women markets in the heart of Imphal town will remain closed, stated the order.
Whole sale shops of grocery and food essentials located in the main markets of Imphal namely Thangal bazar, Paona bazaar and Masjid road will be allowed to open from 7 am to 5pm on roster basis.Hotels for lodging will be allowed to remain open but the restaurants to remain closed.
