Guwahati, Oct 25: In a collaborative effort, police and security forces in Manipur successfully discovered a substantial cache of arms and ammunition during search operations conducted on October 24.
These operations were executed in the bordering and high-risk regions of Kangpokpi, Bishnupur, Kakching, Thoubal, and Churachandpur districts.
Official reports confirm that the search missions took place on Tuesday, spanning from 3:30 pm to 7:30 in the evening. Numerous residences within Wangoo Laipham Chingya were inspected, alongside the sanitization of suspected areas within the Wangoo Laipham Manya hill range.
Following the operations, a significant quantity of arms and ammunition was unearthed from the Wangoo Laipham Mangya hill range, in close proximity to the local cemetery.
The recovered items have been handed over to the Officer in Charge (OC) of the WNG-PS for further investigation and necessary action.
