Arunachal's active COVID-19 caseload mounts to 176

Itanagar, April 20: In a single-day new high for daily infections, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday recorded 65 new COVID-19 positive cases, taking its active caseload to 176. Consequently, the State's tally of confirmed cases spiked to 17,052.

Thirty-one of the fresh cases were detected in Itanagar Capital Complex, seven cases reported from West Kameng and five each from Lower Dibang Valley and Papum Pare.

Four cases each came from Leparada, East Siang and Lower Subansiri, and two from Tawang, while Namsai, Lohit and Changlang registered one case each.

On the other hand, 11 cases were reported to have recuperated from the disease on the day that mounted the total number of recovered cases to 16,820,.

The recovery rate has plummeted to 98.64 per cent, stated a bulletin issued by the State Directorate of Health Services here.

Continuing the trend, 20 of the total cases were found to be asymptomatic and 45 symptomatic, as per the bulletin.

Among the newly infected, seven are military personnel from West Kameng, two are tourists in Tawang and one is a health care worker from East Siang. Sixteen of the new cases are having their travel history.

The Himalayan State on Monday tested 1162 samples for Covid-19, taking the cumulative number of tests done so far to 4,21,131, as per the bulletin.
