NHRC notice over Dimapur killings

NEW DELHI, Jan 15 � Taking suo motu cognizance, the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued notices to Assam and Nagaland Police asking them to file reports within four weeks following reports of recovery of highly decomposed bodies of nine persons at Dimapur in Nagaland.

A spokesman of the NHRC said that based on media reports, the Commission has issued notices to DGPs of Assam and Nagaland Police. Media reported that nine bodies were found in a gorge, covered in polythene sheets in Dimapur district adjacent to Assam.
