NFR GM inspects divisions

GUWAHATI, Oct 28 - Newly-appointed General Manager of NF Railway, Mohd Jamshed conducted a window-trailing inspection of four divisions, Rangiya, Lumding, Katihar and Alipurduar falling under the zone, after taking charge of his new post yesterday.

The window-trailing inspection is carried out to access the fitness of tracks, signalling, safety and operational efficiency, said a statement. Jamshed, travelling by the Northeast Express, started with the Katihar Division and continued till the Kamakhya Station of Lumding Division.

He held discussions with Divisional Railway Managers and key officials on various aspects of the NFR�s operations including punctual running of trains, adequateness of safety precautions, increasing the speed of trains, removal of operational bottlenecks, availability of passenger amenities, status of various works in progress, loading performance and finance.
