NABARD Chairman to visit State from Feb 1

GUWAHATI, Jan 30: Dr GR Chintala, Chairman NABARD, will visit Assam as a state guest from February 1 to 3.


During his stay, Dr Chintala will preside over a business plan meet of NABARD for the north-eastern states besides Andaman and Nicobar Islands, on February 1. He will meet Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal and other senior government officials to discuss various business and developmental issues pertaining to agriculture and allied sectors including rural infrastructure development in Assam.
Dr Chintala will be accompanied by two Deputy Managing Directors of NABARD – PVS Suryakumar and KV Shaji along with other senior officials.


On February 2, Dr Chintala will visit the Assam Agricultural University (AAU) campus at Khanapara and interact with heads of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra and regional agricultural research centres in the presence of the AAU Vice Chancellor.
After the meeting, Dr Chintala  will proceed to Nalbari to inaugurate a mega credit camp to be organised by SBI where loans will be distributed to SHGs, JLGs and FPOs. He will also address the beneficiaries at a meeting.
