�Mama� last rites at Charaideo today

DOOMDOOMA, Dec 20 � The body of ULFA�s political ideologue Bhimkanta Buragohain, more popularly known as Mama, who passed away at around 5.45 pm yesterday at his home at Dholla Ahom gaon, was taken to the designated camp of ULFA at Kakopathar where ULFA leaders Arabinda Rajkhowa, Sasha Chowdhury, Raju Baruah, Probal Neog and others paid tributes while the ULFA cadres gave full military honour.

Talking to the media, ULFA chairman Arabinda Rajkhowa said that Mama�s demise is a great loss to ULFA as well as to the Assamese nation. ULFA has become guardianless today, he added.

From Kakopather designated camp, Mama�s body will be taken to Sivasagar where it will be kept at premises of historic Ronghar for the public to pay homage. His last rites will be performed at Charaideo tomorrow afternoon according to Ahom tradition.

Meanwhile, the shops and other business establishments of Doomdooma, Kakopathar, Dholla areas remained close as a mark of respect to Mama.
