Krishak Sabha pays tribute to Hotaru Bania

DUNI, Oct 23 - The people of Bheruadall village and Assam State Committee of the Nikhil Bharat Krishak Sabha, jointly organised a shradhanjali programme to pay tribute to farmer Hotaru Bania (50) of Bheruadall village under Sipajhar Police Station recently. The father of two sons and two daughters, Bania recently committed suicide as floods reportedly ruined his all green paddy fields measuring nearly seven bighas. According to family sources, deep frustration was the cause of his suicide.

Meanwhile, Hemchandra Bardoloi, headmaster of Paschim Darrang High School conducted the shradhanjali programme where Triken Das, secretary of the Assam State Committee of Nikhil Bharat Krishak Sabha, Balendra Kumar Nath, headmaster of Bonmajhar High school, Prabin Das, retired professor of Arya Vidyapith College and Karuna Bhuyan, vice-president of the Assam State Committee of Nikhil Bharat Krishak Sabha, recalled the struggles of late farmer Hotaru Bania.

It is worth mentioning here that two blankets and a bag of rice were also given to the deceased�s family by the representatives of the sabha. Paying tributes to Bania, the village headman, Md Saphir Ahmed and lat mandal Mojamil Ahmed said that necessary reports about the suicide of Bania were already submitted to the Circle Officer of Patharighat Revenue Circle for departmental action.
