GUWAHATI, June 19 - Paying tribute to cultural legend Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha on the eve of his death anniversary, the All Assam Students� Union (AASU) lamented the fact that adequate steps are yet to be taken to preserve the legacy of Rabha.
Rabha Divas will be observed across the State on June 20.
�It is one of our long-pending demands that to ensure in-depth and methodic research work on the cultural and literary doyens of Assam, the State government must fund and maintain chairs in the names of Bishnu Rabha, Jyotiprasad Agarwala and Dr Bhupen Hazarika so that future generations can benefit from the contributions of these cultural icons,� AASU chief advisor Dr Samujjal Bhattacharyya stated.
